It's official, you're Kool 🥳

If you're reading this message, it means you've participated in a workshop on ecology, congratulations!

As you've probably guessed, this is just the beginning of the adventure.

Bad news: you can no longer say you didn't know

Good news: you have all the tools to be part of the solution, and everything to gain by doing your part 💪

First of all, you can give me your feedback on the workshop.

Take 3 minutes and help me improve a lot 🙌

What's next?

It's up to you to climb the next steps of power

For that, here are some ways to go further:

Knowledge

Knowledge is power, a remedy for the feeling of helplessness

The workshop gave you the basics, now it's up to you to dig deeper!

To go further:

Spread the word

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has

We've understood: we need to take action individually but also collectively.

And influence has enormous potential in reaching the social tipping point necessary to amplify ecological action.

Besides, it's more fun to talk about ecology than weather or the World Cup, isn't it?

Talking about ecology with your loved ones is always a good idea, we listen to our close ones the most.

💡Spreading the workshop is also a simple solution to spread awareness: it adapts to all audiences and settings.

Nothing is more effective than an enthusiastic recommendation from a friend/colleague to make someone want to try

How to organize one or participate?

On the website of the workshop in question: public workshops open to everyone are constantly offered, all you have to do is sign up

Act

Setting an example is not the main means of influencing others, it is the only means

Taking action is important to reduce your impact, but also and especially to set an example (and that's Gandhi who says it).

For that, everything starts with measuring your personal carbon footprint to know where you're starting from and what your biggest emission sources are.

The best way to do this is to use the government's online calculator, called Nos GEStes Climat.

Then you need to reduce, for that one motto: less but better

Some ideas for actions:

🍓 Eat plant-based, organic, local and seasonal (in that order of priority)

💡💚 Take the Jump: a free program to discover 6 simple actions that can reduce 25% of total GHG emissions if implemented by everyone in Western countries.

If you haven't already, you can participate in a 2tonnes workshop, a concentration of action ideas that allows you to concretely measure their impact on your carbon footprint and on the community. Try it 👉 https://www.2tonnes.org/

Why me when the Chinese/rich/Belgians/dogs/politicians aren't doing anything?

For a simple reason: physics doesn't care about these limiting debates when it comes to making us pay for our climate disruption.

Our responsibility is common, but differentiated: everyone can and must do their part according to their levers of action

Make others act

Not the easiest step, but not the least important either.

Some ideas:

  • Vote, and choose carefully who you vote for by looking at the climate section of the programs (which ultimately in the long term is the one that determines economic, security or health policies: no one can escape the physical limits of our world)
  • Make your school move. How? By asking questions about what is already in place regarding climate issues training, and by asking for more. It's also possible to request the organization of climate frescoes, I'd be happy to help if I can: johner.brice@gmail.com
  • Make your company move. How? By asking questions about what is already in place (climate plan), and by asking to go further if it's not ambitious enough. Impossible? On the contrary, there are many levers of action to move your company and I'd be happy to help (it's my job): johner.brice@gmail.com
